Ship Tracking Question

Hello All,

I'm a little confused about this live ship tracker tab listed above on this website. Our relatives are on the Carnival Freedom that just left out Ft. Lauderdale this afternoon. Their itinerary was changed due to the hurricanes and are now taking the eastern route.

The part that's confusing is when I look at the map to see where they currently are. I can find the ship just a little past Miami. Being that they probably left around 4:30, I would assume that they should be a lot further than that at 7 hours later. (11:30 PM) If you click on the ship it will bring up a pop up where you can then show the vessel's track. It looks like it went back towards Miami and now heading south. But, if you click the little arrows, the time shows tomorrow.

So, am I reading this wrong? I thought it was a live tracking, but the times don't agree with that theory. Did they head back for some reason or not?

Does anybody understand what I'm trying to say and what's your conclusion after looking at the tracking.

Looking forward to hear your comments.

Apparently the ship turned back for some reason last night and now it's heading for Cozumel. The itinerary was changed again, back to its original western route.

Still trying to find out if there was a medical emergency yesterday.

I didn't see anything buit that's probably the case. A medical emergency is about the only reason I can think of that they would turn a ship around unless it was a mechanical issue.

I got an email response from John Heald and he said it was a medical emergency. Hopefully the person is doing better now. Too bad they had to miss the cruise, especially if they've waiting a long time to go on vacation.

But health comes first!
