our triumph cruise will place us in san juan from 5p-midnight. we've been there several times (been to the condado area, the forts and old san juan through 2 different walking tours.

so need any excursion advise. both kids coming with (age 12) did the walking tour in april here, we wanted the biobay... but carnival isn't holding it as an excursion and the time is too tight to do it private. no horseback riding in the dark for us. Because it's dark around 630pm... most the hotels that have day packages close their pools and pool bars at 6pm.

so we thought we'd walk old san juan ourselves... maybe hit some shops... but even with 4 ships in port... I've read not many stores are open....

Anyone with experiences with late excursions here that can give some suggestions?

as always... thanks in advance

Hmmm. all the stores were opened when we sailed on the Victory.

We jsut walked off the ship to the end of the pier and turned left. There is a tourist center located there. We jsut continues left to the end of the cobblestone street. There is the ocean and little lookout towers that let you see what the people saw way back in the day. I thought it cool and kids- if they know their history will think its neat...imagination will be needed.)

when we came to the waters we turned right and looked at the huge doors. (these things were huge-- it lead to the shopping district. walked up and down the streets window shopping.

(we also ate dinner on the ship before we ventured out.
