My Wife and I along with my Aunt and Uncle are saling the Eastern Itinerary on Carnival's Paradise March.16/03. We would like to have some feedback on the shore excursions we're interested in doing. Any information at all will be greatly appreciated. Our first stop is in Nassau where we would like visit Blue Lagoon. Our second stop is in Casa Del Campo, Domincan Republic. We're looking at going on the Country Jeep Safari Tour. Our last stop is in St. Thomas. We're looking at going on the Champagne Catamaran Sailaway and going to visit Paradise Point. Also wondering if it's better to do the tours on our own or book them through Carnival?

Thanks!!!

I would recommend you do the tours thru Carnival. That way, if your tour is running late and doesn't get back to the ship in time, etc. they either will wait for you or provide transportation to catch up with the ship. Also, in case a port is missed, most individual companies will not give any refunds. Neither does RCCL but I believe Carnival does.

I did the Blue Lagoon Dolphin encounter in Nassau last Nov and I inquired about doing it on my own and the cost is only about $5-$10. Also the Blue Lagoon have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Which means, if your ship for whatever reason is late arriving or has to skip Nassau. You lose your money. So I definitely would do that one through the ship for if you don't make it. They will refund you your money. By the way I really enjoyed it and thought that it was well worth the cost (I think that it was $92.00). Also any photo's and or videos are extra. I think that they wanted $44.00 for the video.

As far as Paradise Point goes, you can walk from the pier (less then 5 minutes) and do it on your own. That way you can stay as long as you want. Don't miss it. The view is breath taking. Also be sure to try there Banana Daquiri and/or there Bushwacker. They were both great and not that expensive.
