Show Seating

When attending live shows or events onboard do you make reservations or just show up at showtime? What determines where you sit? Is this an area where the better tippers will get the better seats?

for the shows and events you just show up and set where a place is availbable.(except for the specialty restuarants , where a reservation is required ).

tipping has nothing to do with getting a good spot. if you order a drink they will are at the shows they take the drink price off of your s&s card and the 15% gratuity tip is automaticly added to the cost of the drink.

Yup it is open seating. Hint: Don't sit close to the front for the comedian show unless you want to get picked on by him/her. (some people enjoy that though) :lol

For the commedian show-- go early if you want a seat.

On the Miracle we went 45 mintues before showtime and all those people saving the whole rows really did suck. sad to say we missed the show. Commedians are held in smaller lounges. I think they should be kept in the big show rooms.

It sounds like the seat saving could be really irritating. Who settles the dispute if someone refuses to abide by the attempt to save the seats? I'm betting you see the same people doing this all cruise. Cruizer you're the parlimentarian(of sorts) What's the protocol? Seems like we need a rule for every form of human interaction or somebody will take advantage!

Although I have seen people saving seats before, I've never had to miss a show because of it. (knock on wood.)

I am sure if we went to someone to complain about the massive seat saving going on we could have gotten a seat but these people should have seen what was going on and came on the loud speaker to remind quest that saving seats is not very nice

Never had a problem getting a seat for a show that I showed up on time for (on time does not mean 1 minute before the start time).

There are two different 'big production shows' in the main show lounge on every Carnival cruise. (Dont miss these - very entertaining and 'Vegas-y'.)

Carnival has a good system for making sure all passengers have seating. The 'early' diners go to the first show, around 8:30pm. The 'late' diners go to the second show, around 10:30pm. I usually arrive about 20 minutes before show time, and have never had a problem finding a seat. The main show lounge seating is usually on two levels.

For the other shows; i.e., comedians, magicians, etc., which are usually held in one of the smaller lounges, it's best to get there as early as possible, as the seats are taken quickly. I rarely go to these shows anyway. I agree that some of these should be held in the larger lounge.
