I will be going on the Carnival Pride 14 day cruise through the Panama Canal on Sept 7th. I was wondering if anyone had any idea what kind of transportation would be avaliable to get me from the Ft. Lauderdale airport to the ship in Miami. The last time I flew into Orlando and got a shuttle to Port Canavral. Any help would be appreciated.

There are a couple of options.

First, you can arrange for transfers through Carnival. It's $15.00 per person each way. just call Carnival, they'll hook you up. This option may not be available if you fly in the day before the cruise. You will need to give Carnival your flight number.

Second, you can rent a car and drive - it's very reasonable and the route is pretty direct. It will take you about 35 minutes to the Port.

Third, and we just did this one - you can get a private car with driver from the airport to the port or to any downtown hotel for $55.00. It's cheaper than a taxi, believe it or not, and much, much nicer. Look for the Airport Express folks (white shirts, red lettering) outside the airport where you pick up ground transportation. You won't need a reservation.
