My family and I will be cruising to Alaska on August 10th via Carnival. I've booked all our excursions independantly for every stop except Sitka. We were trying to go on Ester G with Davey Lubin but he is all booked up. Can anyone give me other suggestions for Sitka tours that have a similiar itinarary as his tour. He visits St. Lazerine island, and sea lion islands.

Has anyone done the Wildlife and Otter Quest that is booked thru Carninval?? Where does it go and what do you see on this excursion?? Thank you!!

The Otter & Wildlife quest I believe is done through Allen Marine. We were on the Infinity a few weeks ago & booked them directly through the ship. They were not available to book independantly, we tried. Celebrity calls this tour the same thing Carnival does and so does Allen Marine, so I will assume it's the same. This tour was awesome. We saw so much wildlife, Sea Otters, Sea Lions, Puffins and many whales. The captain & crew were very professional & did a great job of keeping everyone informed.

I'm actually on the cruise now so I've actually just went on the shore excursions with these companies. I did Misty fjords with Island wings in Ketchikan which was fabulous. Michelle is great, she even lands on a lake and lets you get out and walk along the shore line for as long as you want. We all took our shoes off and played in a small waterfall that trickled down the mountain we stopped at. The second was Capt Larry for whale watching in Juneau. This was by far the most exciting trip so far. He takes us out to see the humpback whales, two types of otters and tried to search for orcas. We got so close to one whale that even the captain was snapping pictures and excited at the opportunity to see the whales "playing" with us. Today is Monday and we go with Ester G, Davey Lupin, in Sitka. Website is www.puffinsandwhales.com. His boat is only for 5 people and suppose to be the best in Sitka as per all the companies I called. He is hard to book because of this. We actually had to leave out the other couple with us because he was full. Book him early. One more word of advice, in Juneau you have so much time try to get to Mendenhall Glacier also. Take the Glacier express when you arrive it's only $5.00 one way. You'll have a great time its beautiful country up here.
