Has anyone ever used skyauction.com to book a cruise, and if you have can you get upgraded besides the upgrades you can pay for.

I haven't, but just wanted to share why. I had a look at reviews of skyauction on epinions, and it seems most people (especially the recent ones) have had pretty bad luck with them.

If you do use skyauction, please let us know how it goes - the deals seem fantastic!

I have used skyauction twice -- no problems -- I know someone from our last cruise who has used them 12 times -- same no problems.

note be aware of the extra charges such as port charges and sailing date charges that add up -- still you would be hard pressed to match their rates with other TAs.

When you book a room at 4A inside or 6A outside Riveria deck you are booked by Carnival under guaranteed Inside or Outside which in both cases put us on the Main Deck -- or one class upgrade. Skyauction also sent a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolate from the ships bakery -- nice touch no charge. Dinner seating was with other skyauction winners. I was prepared for the worst table but one cruise was a good table and one a great table. I only have experience with carnival.

last note the best deals are with the older ships but soemtimes the newest are available we were on the Victory and Conquest both newer ships
