Smoke detectors in the cabins?

Yes, and it is monitored by a computer on the bridge. I have heard the bridge knows the minute some one lights up. I guess it is because of the fire danger. Fire is the largest area of concern (except for icebergs in the Caribbean) for the safety of the passengers and the ship.

Would you really want someone else starting a fire in their room (maybe right next to you)& you get locked in one of the areas that have the automatic door shutting, to save the other passengers from the fire?
I smoke too, but you can handle it, I promise.
