Smoking Cabin and Non-smoking Cabin

Hi

I've been lurking around this board for awhile and just wanted to say that I've gotten a lot of good advices from all.....thanx

on to my question:
I've book a cruise on the Valor next year and on my room preferences it's stated smoking. I don't smoke but my gf does, however I would rather be in a non-smoking room if I can choose. We have a balcony so I guess she can always smoke there, which is not a problem for her.

Do the smoking cabins stink?? I mean if it's not a really big difference i'll just stick with it.

Thanx

There are no non-smoking cabins on Carnival (or most other lines). There are lots of non-smoking areas all over the ship (dining rooms, main showlounge, etc.), but all cabins are 'smoking'. As to your other question, the cabins do not have a smoky smell at all. Seems the cabin stewards use a very strong cleanser that eliminates odors of all kinds. And - yes, your gf can smoke on your balcony - just don't throw the butts overboard (could blow onto another balcony). Ashtrays will be in the cabin - if not, ask the steward for one. No prob.

If you go into your cabin and you find the smell of smoke--leave your cabin steward a note to ask him to get rid of the smoke smell. Ihave no idea what they use but it works great.

Your gf will only be able to smoke on one side of the ship--look for the signs/ or ashtrays. If she does not see an ashtray more thenlikely its the smoke free side.

All eating places-dining room, buffet, supper clubs are all smoke free as is the show lounge.
