We are platinum on Carnival and have enjoyed more that 15 cruises. On all ships they designate one side as the smoking side, usually the stbd. Sometimes you may need to get the help of the staff to enforce the rules. My wife is very sensitive to smoke, so we tend to stay out of the bar areas where they allow you to smoke. Carnival use to have a smoke free ship on the Paradise, and that was very nice, we enjoyed the entire week on that ship without seeing a single lit cigarette. even in the Casino or piano bar, or outside on any of the decks. I wish they would bring that back.
