I do not consider myself "Politically Correct", but rather, I try to be polite and considerate of Non Smokers and tend to go off by myself to smoke. My wife does not smoke, so I do not smoke in my cabin. But I do get a balcony and go out there. I will smoke in the Casino and in the Cigar Bar, but again, try to move away from others.

But this has been my "Choice".

But I do get a little upset when I make the effort to go off to an area (outdoors) away from everyone else so as not to bother them and to have someone come into my area and then complain.

I am a business traveler (Some say "Road Warriror") and can understand an estabishment for going non smoking such as alot of hotels are doing. I personally hate the smell of stale smoke and have even carried a small container of Febreeze.

So if Carnival wants to have a port/starboard smoking policy, go for it, just make sure it is my side of the ship
