"Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages onboard. However, guests 21 years of age and older only may bring one bottle (750ml) of wine or champagne, per person, on board only during embarkation at the beginning of the cruise"

Will you get caught, will determine if the inspector is having a bad hair day or not. Since you are 16, that might be another issue.

I fool them every time I sail. I sneak the booze on board by carrying it in my stomach. I will stand at the gangway and drink it if front of them and then carry it on board with me. :)-D

Unless you are cruising with RCCL, it really isn't worth it to me. I have sailed on Princess, Carnival, NCL and RCCL. All except for RCCL will let you purchase alcohol for your room. Yes, it is more expensive than "sneaking" it on but is still less than buying drinks at the bar. I am handicapped and I like to have a drink or two before I go bed at night on my balcony. Running down to a bar and getting a drink really isn't an option. I recently sailed Liberty of the Seas and they are very strict about bringing booze on. There was a bin fillled with booze that was taken from guests when they came back from port. With NCL we didn't get our luggage. We had to go to a naughtly room and remove the bottle of booze and then carry our luggage back to our room. On Carnival, my husband just filled a water bottle with rum and didn't have any problem carrying it on in our beach bag. I think with any line you take the risk of being caught. I have only heard of them taking the alcohol and giving it back to you the night before you leave. If you don't care about being embarassed give it a try. Like I said, I would much rather buy it from the ship than worry about the hassle.

Taking it from you is not the worst that can happen. The O.P. is ONLY 16 years old. He/she could be [and probably would be] refused boarding. ALONG WITH accompanying adults! OR if found during the cruise, put off [with adults] at the next port. With no help or refunds. IT has happened.
This CHILD NEEDS to be caught.
