Snorkel equipment

Does anyone know about how much it costs to rent snorkel equipment.

Is it better to bring your own?

Can you rent pieces separately or do they come together in a package of goggles, snorkel and fins.

Thanks.

We rented snorkel equipment our first time snorkeling. When we went to return our gear after we were done, we put them in a barrel. They stated they sterilize everything not that I would doubt them, but the thought of those mouthpieces in other peoples mouths gave me the creeps. I bought our own for upcoming cruise. This is JMHO. I don't know if you can rent items seperately or not. We found our gear @ Sports Authority for $20.00 each. A small price to pay for peace of mind. Again JMHO... :)

Bring your own. That way you can be sure of a good fit and sanitation. Renting fins is usually possible and if they take too much luggage room i'd just take a mask and snorkle.

Good question Eric. Taking my family of four this July to the Caribbean and was wondering the same thing. :AL:USA

Hi all,

I was on the Grand Princess in April, my frist snorkeling experience. My boyfriend and I took our own equipment (purchased at Costco, around $35 USD, made by body gloves). The snorkel and the mask is not heavy, we just put them in a beach bag and bring it around with us. We rented the fins at the beach/park when we get there, around $5USD.

bikevegas, there are really cheap equipment out there for kids, and with the whole SARS thing, I just think it's much better to bring your own equipment, at least your own snorkel.

Have fun y'all
