Should I buy snorkel equipment before I go on a Western Carribean Cruise. Or is it easier to rent it at each stop?

After three cruises...I bought my own. You don't save any money on the excursions... but at least I knew whose mouth it had been in!! I didn't worry so much about the flippers ..but th mouth piece..ick!! I know they are sanitized for my protection... but I liked my own!

well as a nurse.I'd say buy your own..the sanitizing process is more than just rinsing and I'd be hard pressed to trust someone else to protect my health..online you can get really good deals and it's not too much to carry....Lot's of people rent but my family takes our own..:daisy..Joanne

We bought our own. It was a sanitary issue. It isn't that hard to tote along and I know how clean it really is... :)

All dempends on how often you think you will need it after this cruise. If this is your one and only time, rent it from the ship. If you know you will be using it again you can purchase your own set (good equipment at decent price via the web). Just remember to rinse it off well when you get back to the ship. I soak the masks in the sink and run water through the snorkel. I rinse the fins off in the shower. Salt water is ver corrosive. When I get home, it all gets a bath again before it gets put away.

I bring my own mask and snorkel. They don't take up much room in your luggage and they're clean. I don't bring the fins. I have 4E with feet and don't need them (he-He)
