Some suggest taking your own snorkel equipment (going to Eastern Caribbean in Oct.)

Would you ned to purchase the equipment at a sporting store or are Wal-mart type snorkel sets ok?? Also, what about having disinfectant wipes to clean a rented snorkel with?
