Gina - we're contemplating the same thing and are considering Captain Brians, which I think ends a tad earlier - I don't think you'd have a problem with 2:30 though.....the tenders are fast and efficient at Cayman.......which week will you be on Voyager?

We are booked on this trip through Snorkelers Dream on Grand Cayman Cruise Exursions

We just got this email from them. Its refreshing to see that a company will actually willing to change to help. So this will give us more than enough time to get back.

So why aren't the cruise ships trying to adjust for local time? I would hate to arrive there at 6am in the morning, what a waste of time.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Due to the recent overwhelming confusion over Cruise Ship arrival/departure times during the summer months most Operators in the Island of Grand Cayman have had to revise excursion times for the months of May 1st 2003 to October 31st 2003.

The Cayman Islands do not observe Daylight Saving Time. As of April 2003 Grand Cayman is on CENTRAL US TIME, we are on the same time zone as HOUSTON TEXAS. Most Cruise Liners have been able to alter their arrival departure times in the past, but as of May they have not adjusted their times for the current year. Some Cruise Liners are arriving as early as 6:00am and departing at 3:00pm leaving little to do in the morning as all shops do not open until 8:30am, excursions not departing until 9am and so on. We understand the times are currently being revised by all Operators as well as Cruise Liners for a solution.

Please take note: Your reserved excursion on the Snorkelers Dream in Grand Cayman has revised the return time to 1:30PM LOCAL TIME. The excursion will remain a 10:00am departure (LOCAL CENTRAL TIME ZONE) with a 9:45am meeting time, providing 3 snorkeling stops. The operator has found it necessary to shorten the excursion by 30 minutes in order for all Cruise Ship Passengers reserved on the excursion to be able to return to Port comfortably with enough time to spare well before their last tender departure time.

Please be assured the revised time is a necessary measure in order to assure all passengers an enjoyable, relaxing, trouble free sail to Stingray City. Please fell free to contact us if you require any additional information.

Thank you for your understanding,

Island Marketing Ltd (Cayman)

What is really interesting, while I have a confirmation for Capt Bryans' snorkling trip directly from Capt Bryan (on 6/24 from Century cruise), it is the same as Snorklers dream, Island marketing, and Grandcaymancruiseexcursions! The latter gave me a quote of $34 pp with $4 deposit on credit card, while Capt Bryan gave me $30 pp (as a special from usual charge of $35). They all appear to be located in the same place, same directions, and when you go to book it with them and receive an Email back , it tells you there is availability on a tour with Capt Bryan! So I guess I figured it out as an "agency" which is promoting his tours and makes a couple of bucks ($4)! If I am wrong, please tell me.

They aren't the same excursion, they are different boats as we have been on Captain Bryans before. Maybe there was a mix up in info they sent you. I've received my confirmation for Snorkelers Dream and they give you directions for a cab ride. Captain Bryans is located in George Town and then they put you on a bus to the Catamaran. Captain Bryans is only 2-1/2hr trip and Snorkelers Dream is 3-1/2 hrs which is why we are trying them this time.
