We just bought our own last month. I'm so glad we did. Now we have masks that fit our particular face, snorkels that haven't been slobbered on by other swimmers and it doesn't take that much packing space. As someone said above, it's about priorities. To us, it was a priority and we plan to use them a lot in the future. The best advice I got on this board re: snorkel equip. is to try it on first. If we hadn't, my 11 yr. old would've gotten the wrong size mask (he needed an adult size!).
