We haven't cruise on Royal Caribbean much lately, but will again this fall, so bring me up to date here.

Years ago, when you ordered soda drinks at dinner, they were included, but if you ordered one in a bar you had to pay for it. Do they still do it this way, or is all soda a charged item now ?

We sailed on the Mariner with the MOSAIC, and I think they may have charged for dinner sodas them, but I really never thought about it at the time. If they've stopped letting passengers have sodas for free at dinner, does anyone remember when that was discontinued.

Not sure when they stopped but I know it was a long time ago......

On our 1st cruise (20+ years ago) they even gave you a bottle of wine at dinner, 1 red & 1 white.......:)o

You can buy a soda/juice card and drink all the soda you want. I think it's about $6 a day but I've haven't bought one in a few years since my kids don't drink soda anymore.

Gayle, we had a great trip aboard the Rhapsody 6/17-6/24.

If you order a soda at dinner in the dining room, you are NOT charged.

If you plan to drink throughout the trip I would recommend buying the soda cup for $42 + gratuties (= 48.60 I think) and you can get unlimited fills throughout the week.

BUT, be sure to get a print out of your charges a few days before the cruise ends... my friend purchased a card for herself and was charged for THREE drink packages. While the mess was cleared up, it took a bit of persuading to convince the pursers desk she only bought 1.

Have a great trip

Hello all, for the information.

Another Me, That's what I was hoping to hear. I don't drink enough soda on the ship to make the card a deal for me, but I usually do like to have one with dinner, so the free one with dinner will be enough soda for me.

When I'm laying out by the pool I really prefer ice water anyway, so I take my Cruise Addict's drink bucket with me and fill it in the windjammer. And in the bars,in the evening, I like to try one umbrella type drink.

I'd probably drink more soda on the ship if only there were more selections, diet orange being my usual favorite soda. The last time we were on RCI the only diet soda was a diet cola. I really don't much like colas, and diet cola really tastes especially nasty. The only sodas back then were: regular cola, regular 7-up (or something similiar) and the diet cola. Has that changed any in recent years?
