Soda/wine on Voyager

Has anyone been on RCCL Voyager of the Seas and taken any soda or wine on board?, I called RCCL and asked their policy on this and they advised me that they would confiscate any soda or wine and could possibly refuse us to cruise with them without a refund of money. Has anyone had problems like this?, we cruised Carnival and they had no problem bring soda or one bottle of wine on board. Any thoughts would be helpfull.

I hear of cruise lines confiscating alcohol but never refusing to let you board. It is the guidelines -- no alcohol but a lot of folks due manage at times to bring it on board.

We just sailed on the Voyager over Superbowl weekend. We did take a case of bottled water onboard with no problem, we did not try Soda or wine. However, we did see literally dozens of people carrying on the single twelve packs of soda with no problem. My suggestion is to order Rum Runners and put you wine in them. We've done this for 10 years and it always works. The Rum runners have never been detected in our luggage, they work great!! Good luck!

There are certain cruise lines that will confiscate your drinks while boarding until the last day of your cruise.

I am not surprised that RCI do this after the recent they cam out the most expensive from all the cruise lines so I guess they would want everyone to buy from them rather then brings his own.

As for soda, that is the first time I have heard they will convescate it, I think you were given wrong information, but as for wine; the cruise line has just started cracking down and no, you can not bring any on board. They will take it from you just to return it at the end of the cruise. I will add to this, think again about Carnival, Jan 1st they too, started cracking down, no more booze of any kind, wine or anything else. The days of bringing on your own spirits are quickly coming to an end. I would expect Princess and HAL to follow in the next few months.

Never heard them not allowing soda. I am sailing in a few weeks and like normal will have some wine in my checked luggage. With 3,000 plus passengers I cannot see them spending that much time checking what yoou have
