Can anyone tell me..... sailing Century, are there charges for using the Gym/spa facilities? I don't mean the individual treatments, I mean in general. Can you use the treadmill? Are you allowed in the hot tubs/sauna? appreciate any help...

On Century, there are no charges for use of the gym and its various equipment, unless you sign up for pilates, or something similar. The hot tubs are up by the pool, not in the gym, and are free for everyone to use. There is a small T-pool in the spa that is not free unless you are booked in a suite. You can purchase daily or weekly access to it if you like, but it really is very small and not worth it in my opinion.

Thanks. We are booked in a suite, but my interest is more in hot tubs than the small pool anyway. I also am interested in the gym use, so I appreciate your response.

Gym use is free for everyone on Celebrity. Only speciality services, massages, classes, etc. are additional. The M Class ships have very nice gym facilities, with dozens of treadmills facing the water and an enormous amount of weight lighting and other fitness equipment.

During the online check in the spa treatments were listed but didn't give any prices, are they expensive?

What is the T-Pool (therapy pool?) and what makes it different than a regular pooL or is it a swim against the current pool like on Princess?
Does the Century have one?

Has anyone ever had any meals there?

Has anyone ever tried the spa menu they have in the dining room?

Thanks in advance!

Cheryl, the prices are NUTS. You can find the services listed with prices on
http://www.celebritycruises.com/why...aWvA1b:12hdebdrn?pagename=aquaspa_and_fitness

I find the services are not of the quality I receive at home, and the prices at least 25% higher. Now if you regularly never receive treatments, and this is part of your "vacation experience", then go for it. I personally think they are well overpriced.

The Thalassotherapy pool can either be very relaxing, or quite an adventure, depending upon the seas. On turbulent days, you got shloshed around like a guppy (quite dangerous actually), on calm days, it's very relaxing. It's free. Hit it in the early mornings for the most solitude. It's basically a huge hot tub. A pool where you sit and veg out to the warm bubbles. I believe only M class and Solstice has these, but I could be wrong. Century does have new updates.

Spa food - there is no such thing as a "spa menu" in the main dining area. However, there is "lighter fare" each night. Next to the pool is a area that serves healthy lite foods (all day I believe)...I say I believe because healthy lite foods and cruising to me are not compatible or desirable. The Solstice has an entire "Spa Class" you may be interested in. Not my bag. Champagne and rack of lamb is more my thing.

Hope you find this helpful. Again, you can explore more details on the main Celebrity.com website.

Enjoy! Connie

Thanks Connie for all the info!

I don't want to sound like I am some sort of health addict especially on a cruise. I love that sort of the experience of eating on the regular menus and desert of course. You see I try to watch what I eat prior to a cruise and try to loose a few pounds so I can gain them back if I have too.

I thought that I read that the spa has a restaurant in it and that is what I was referring to when I said the spa menu.

Speaking of rack of lamb that is something that I thought that I would try this trip.

Exactly, I am now doing protein shakes and fruit, along with my daily 5 mile beach walks until....da da..da..DA!!! January 28th, the haloed morning I shall once again board Nirvana (Although I believe she has been christened Constellation) for 12 days of fantasy, champagne, and over indulging in any area I can find to do so. I carefully plan my wardrobe accordingly...tightest clothes first few days, graduating into my "fat" dresses by cruise's end.
:)P)

For me, cruising has always been about an escape from reality, and that includes watching my weight. I have never been disappointed on any Celebrity ships dining fare. (except those horrible lunch buffets)

Sure you'll have an amazing time!! When do you sail?

M class ships have the T-pool which is free. The other ships have a charge or are connected to your cabin level cost or Captain's Club level.
The Cafe in the spa area on M class is a great place for lunch and early morning hanging out.

Hard boiled eggs to lox and all those little "Healthy" type sandwiches and wraps. They have some bad desserts also but mostly stuff that's good for you..fruit etc etc.

I use it in the morning first thing (for me anyways) for decaf coffee

Cheryl,

The food in both are free, but drinks of all type in the Cova Cafe (specialty coffee, wine, liquor) are not free.

Rule of thumb - all food free except Specialty Restaurant (where you need reservations and they charge a "cover" charge, usually $30)...

All booze, soda and Cova Cafe (a specialty area where they serve pastries and GREAT cocoa and coffee - charges for the specialty coffees)...

All fruit juices, milk, lemonade, etc. are free. They have big dispensers for these all around pool area and buffet areas. Also ice cream station there too...free.

The only thing I pay for are my sodas and champagne. A great inexpensive brut is Mumm's Napa (close to Korbel) which goes or $32 a bottle on the ship. They will cork what you don't finish for the next day, in both the bars and the restaurant...no charge.

Don't feel strange about asking when on board...everyone has a first time at everything.
