Scarlett and Bruce,
Sounds great!! There are a group of folks getting together for a drink(s) right after the lifeboat drill on the 18th. We're meeting in the Champions Sports Bar.You can find the thread on
www.cruisecritic.com. Look under the roll calls for the Spirt on the 18th. The fellow that started it is Rick Murg. I usually just hunt for his name. It's easier to spot that way. My wife saw your reply and asked me to respond. We also have the late seating for dinner. We are on the Empress deck aft.
I also saw your question about the topless deck. All Carnival boats have a topless deck. On the Pride it was the funnel deck right up by the big fake red funnel. We used it several times and found it to be the nicest deck on the ship. Nice and quiet. Good breeze and great view of the ocean and ports. I'm assuming it is the same deck on the Spirt since it is the same class of ship. Since we are alone this trip, we'll probably use it almost exclusively.
We also like meeting new folks to pal around with. Have you thought of what excursions you might take. We're doing the Sea turtle snorkel beach one in Barbados (it's the one that describes using a powered catamaran as oppossed to a sailing one). We're thinking about the St Pierre Island Tour for Martinique. St Marten is a trip to Orient Beach followed by some shopping/sightseeing later in the day.
By all means email us at
cruisecpl0219@yahoo.com with your pics and I'll dig out the ones from our last cruise and send them to you.
Oh yeah, for the group meeting on the 18th we're all wearing Mardi Gra type beads as a means of group identification. At last count we're sitting at about 25 - 30 people.
