This is our second cruise this year with RCL, and our very first time to Europe. Hoping to find couples that would be willing to book a private group tour in at least Rome (maybe others), for that seems to be the consensus of the best way to go vs taking a tour from the cruise line. Please feel free to contact me or offer other suggestions

Hello!

We will be on the cruise as well...and are busily planning all the port stops. We have booked tours in all but Rome (since we have been there and done most of the sights) and Villfranche. In Rome we plan on taking the cruise bus into town and doing it on our own. In Villefranche, we are still getting info. The last info was from a company highly recommended from many other cruises called Revelations. Their quote was high, but it was not per person, but simply by the van. 540 euros for a van that can take 6, perhaps 8 people. Their tours can be selected from a number of places...monte carlo, cannes, St. Paul de vence, Nice, Eze,. Too bad you can fit it all in!!

We are looking forward to this cruise, as you, and know it will be a special event to be remembered. Since this cruise is very port intensive, it almost requires you to develop a 'wish' list of sights...and then pare it down some due to the time restrictions. No matter what though, it will be a fabulous experience.

Nice meeting you :O) Happy cruising to us all!

This is also our first trip to Europe. We wanted to do a mixture of organized tours and independent exploration. Thinking of a tour of 6-8 for Rome, www.driverinrome.com. Would love to do train from Naples to Pompeii and Sorrento. Not quite sure what we are doing in Livorno and Villefranche. Maybe we could hire a taxi for Marseilles since we are arriving on a Sunday and not much will be open.

Hello

my wife and I are also going on this cruise and would be interested in private tours. we have research and asked people who went on this cruise and have narrowed it down. limoinrome.com and revelation-tours and www.provencesighting.com seem to have received excellent reviews.
we have also been emailing chriscruise about private tours.
if interested, please email to msalwork@hotmail.com

Hi, i have just returned from the Island Escape cruise from majorca, stopping at Rome. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 kids and used driverinrome.com. Our driver, ALDO was excellent, and we went to many sites that the cruise tour didnt. This was mainly because we were in a mercedes air conditioned minibus rather than a coach with 50 other people.

He also chatted to my husband about Ferrarris, soccer ( we are Brits!) and made several stops for ice cream etc for the kids.
all in all a much better alternative to tour and much cheaper!

at dinner we heard some passengers complaining that their tour had said 'Colosseum' but drove around the outside and didn't stop!!!!!!!!
