hi,we went to st. john on our own , and it was a blast. but cost alot. from the main pier we took a shuttle boat to st. john and then a taxi to trunks bay. i think the boat ride was $20.00 and the taxi was $6.00 each way , each person. but check now it might have changed, we were there about 9 months ago. but st, john was so awsome. water was unbelevable , sand was so soft. but we were there for a few hours, and got back in time to do some shopping, and then back to the boat, to i dont know if your going to have eough time to do both. st john and the tour. i could have stayed in st john all day , but my wife want to do some shopping . have fun....
