We are sailing on the Solstice in December. One of our ports is St. Kitts. I have never been there before. Can someone give me some information on what there is to do there?

Is St. Kitts known for anything in particular, or is it just a small island with not much history?

Also, does anyone know of any local tour guides that I can book through there?

Thanks.

When we were at St. Kitts last year, we used Thenford Grey. It was the best tour we ever had. Thenford is a great guy.

St. Kitts has a lot of history. Thendford's tour took us to Brimstone Fortress. The neaarby island of Nevis was the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton.

I can't tell you what you should do, but I can tell you what not to do. My husband and I went there in February, the island is beautiful and very clean. We took a bus trip booked thru Royal Caribbean to Reggae Beach. A crazy painted school bus picked us up. We couldn't understand a word the bus driver was saying. The road to get to Reggae Beach is 2 lanes and reaches really high points. The bus could barely make it to the top. When we FINALLY arrived we were told that our wristbands entitled us each to a beach chair, and they would return to pick us up in 4 hours.
Well, there were no beach chairs to be had, when I asked the girl told me they'd all been taken for the day. So we decided to walk to where it wasn't as crowded and just sit on our towels. The beach was 100 times worse than a crappy beach in NJ. So we hailed a cab with 3 other couples and returned to the ship.
Other passengers said they had a great time, so we just chose the wrong excursion.
