We went with Int'l Riding stables on St. Lucia in Jan 2000. We had a wonderful time. We booked w/ Floria deStefano on our own over the phone. She met us at the pier, her driver took us to the stables. We had 3 adults and 4 children ages 1-8, the 1yr old rode w/ my husband. The other 3 girls all ride , but even if they did not know how it would not have been a problem. the guides were always with them. We had a lovely ride, then down to the beach, there was a small "trailer" or something set up where some local did try to push us to buy some local crafts, but other than that we were able to purchase a beer, and cokes for the kids, the guides unsaddeled the horses and we rode bareback into the surf. It was fabulous,,prob. the highlight of our trip, There is a bathroom , although not well kept for changing, I have read on a thread on cruise critic that a BBQ lunch can be arranged, and that her driver may be avail. for hire but we did not do that. The ride and the ocean bareback was enough for us. If you've never been bare back it is "unusual" to say the least. We returned to the stables and it was only a short wait before the driver returned us to the pier. As shore excursions go this was a pretty good "bang for your buck" and we would do it again.
