We have booked a tour with Godfrey Tours on May 5th in St. Thomas. We have our choice of going to either Coki Beach, Megans Bay or Sapphire Beach. Which beach is the best for beginning snorkling and swimming?

Thanks for your help,

Mary Kay

Hi,
I've been to Magen's Bay, and it is on the list of the Top Ten Most Beautiful Beaches in the World. Truly a wonderful experience. You can snorkle from the beach. I've never beed to Coki or Sapphire but I'm sure others will respond who have been!
Happy Sails! :) :) :)

I went to Magen's bay and it was wonderful. I didn't snorkel there, so I can't help you with that aspect. I am going back on a cruise in November and plan to either go to Saphire beach or go to Water Island. I have heard great things about Saphire beach, and from the pictures I've seen, it looks like something not to be missed as well!

Magens Bay is beautiful but really doesn't have much sea life to see when snorkeling. Coki Beach has very good snorkeling right off the beach. Have fun.

Coki is great for snorkeling, but the beach wasn't that great. That usually seems to be the case, though. In our experience -- the best beaches never have the best snorkeling.

Coki Beach is very beautiful. It also has Coral World right there. You will get two for one. The excellent snorkeling is just a few yards off shore. They also have beginning scuba diving for those that have never tried it before.

Here are some pictures if you would like to see them:
