We took a taxi to Sapphire Beach...it cost us $6.00 per person R/T. The taxi, which was actually a van picked us back up at a designated time we specified and would have brought us anywhere else for a fee..very accomodating people. The beach was beautiful, the water was deep and there was small waves. Sapphire Beach is connected to a private resort, but because all the beachs in St Thomas are open to the public you are able to use it as well as the rest room, they also have a bar and small store for snack. Snorkling equipment is available for rental as well as non motorized water boats. It was like being in paradise. We encountered no vendors trying to sell us stuff, there was a lady doing hair braiding but she had plenty of customers. We got to the beach at 9:00am and were the only ones on until about 11:00AM, still not very crowded. The waiter on the carnival Victory recommended this beach to us and Im glad he did.
