St. Thomas & St. John question

We will be docking at St. Thomas and want to go to Trunk Bay in St. John for a few hours. We do not want to take the Carnival excursion offered. I have been hearing that I can just hop a ferry to St. John myself. Can someone verify this for me? I want to know where I get this ferry and then how I get to Trunk Bay from where the ferry drops us off. How much does this cost per person also?

Absolutey do it on your own. The ferry is $6 each way. It takes around 20 minutes. The ferry dock is within walking distance of the cruise pier. Once you get to St. John just take a taxi. Piece of cake.

Welcome to cruise @ddicts. Nice to see you on board :spyglass:

Hop on the ferry and go..There are taxi's on St. john....Trunk Bay Unreal...It lives up to all the hype...The water is the clearest anywhere,Palms swaying,White Sand,And the water..You will not forget it.Have a great time..The ship does not give you enough time...So do it on your own for sure...

Across from the ferry dock in St Thomas there is a rooftop open air bar and restaurant that makes some of the best rum punch I ever tasted. :beach:

The "taxi's" on St. John are interesting. Pick up trucks with upholstered benches that run the length of the bed on both sides and a canopy over the top.
