my parents are first time cruisers and going on the star princess in october. has anyone been on the star princess before? any info on it?

There have been some very good comments about the Star Princess recently. We were on her in April and the crew had some "rough edges;" apparently these matters have been resolved.

In April I made 12 days Mediterranean Cruise with Star Princess and had a wonderful time.

We are booked on the Star Princess 12 day Barcelona - Venice sailing 7/3/04. Took the Grand Princess in 2001 to the Eastern Caribbean. Loved the ship and service but the best is their personal choice dinning. We have sailed all the major cruise lines and found Princess an excellent choice.

Your parents should really enjoy the STAR Princess. We sailed the Alaska Inside Passage on her last September.
It was our 13th cruise and second on Princess. The STAR is an absolutely beautiful ship. Our outside cabin was great, service was terrific and food very good.
She is a large ship, but you really don't realize it when you're sailing. There are lots of places onboard where you an spend time alone or with lots of peole, depending on the type of experience you are looking for. We liked her so much that we are now booked on the new Carribbean Princess this November.
In my opinion, it's an excellent choice for first time cruisers.

We sailed her twice to the Mexican Riviera (spring 03, and spring 02) and loved her. We would not hesitate to go again. They will have a great time.

In the last two years we have sailed the Star, Grand, Golden and Diamond. All are "Grand" class ships. As for the staff, service and ship, the best by far was the Star. I would go on this ship again in a heartbeat. Hope you have a good trip.
