Good afternoon, my wife and I returned on Feb 19th,2005 from a round trip to Hawaii on the Statendam. It was a wonderful trip. Everything, the boat, sea, food, entertainment, and our room [inside] and the staff were all excellent. We went on this trip with the idea that it would be wonderful and it was. We could find nothing to complain about because we were not looking for things to complain about. We were there to have a good holiday and we did. I did hear a few people complaining about the ship rolling one night, and one lady had a squeak in her room. Our side trips on the islands were very good, and I think worth the money, We understand that in April the Statendam is going to be redone in 19 to 20 days in Vancouver B.C. what this means??, is better explained by someone who knows. It is a grand old ship and we liked it the way it was, clean and well kept, but things must change I guess. When we docked in San Diego, ther was another Hal. [Oosterdam] ship loading and if my wife would have said yes we would have been on it. We had 2 days in S.D. going and 2 day before we left for home, I wish we would of had more time in S.D. as it is a wonderful city with many, many things to do and see. Also our travel agent Cindy, also helped make this trip with her help and knowledge. Just a note, our travel agent on our first cruise is in a holding area in our prov. jail, and afew people hope they keep him there for a long time, he caused a lot of heartache for a lot of people. Cheers, we hope you have a wonderful voyage on a wonderful ship.
