Statendam questions

Hello from a sort of lurker. I used to post on the community board but haven't been around in a while (no reason really, just busy).

We're sailing on the Statendam to the Mexican Riviera Nov. 2 and I have a question regarding tipping.

My confusion is with the bar waitstaff. I know the tips aren't added to the bar slip you sign when you order. Can an amount be added to the slip when it's signed? I know NCL the slips are printed and amount can't be added so I was wondering. We usually strike up a friendship with one person in particular who gets to know what we drink and checks with us often. Although we find him before we disembark I don't want to have to rely on that alone.

We've sailed Carnival and NCL but never Holland. Any information you have will be appreciated.

I'm sure I'll have a million other questions between now so please bear with me.

Thanks!

Edited to add: sorry... this will teach me to read before I post! I found the answers I needed a little further down the page :dizzy

Joanne,

No - you need to tip in cash. Nothing - anywhere on the ship - will be added to a tab if you want to tip (I'm thinking of the spa/hair salon as well).

Others may have the same question, so I'm leaving my reply even though you found an answer farther down. ;)

Enjoy your cruise!

Thanks, I hadn't even thought of the spa, that probably would have been my next question :lol
