Oh no, my son is 11 years old. I think we just had a bad steward. We have only sailed Disney as a family and I thought that maybe this was one of those extra Disney touches. I thought that perhaps generally if there are 3 in a stateroom, they don't usually bother making the bed back and forth. Since service was phenomenal on Disney, I figured they went the extra mile. Not till I returned and asked this question here on the board, did I realize that it is standard procedure, even on Carnival. I didn't think to ask the steward - like I said - just thought this is how they do it on Carnival.Since returning, I also learned that on Carnival a big cookie is left at bedtime every night for kids. My son only received the cookie one night. So I guess we had a bad attendant :-(
