Help!!!! I am excited about swimming with the sting rays in Grand Cayman, but after looking at a few pictures at webshots.com, I am not so sure!!!! For example, look at this. Should I pass on the swimming with the sting rays??? I do not want to be stuck in the middle of all these people!!!!

Thanks, Misty.

We did the swimming with the Sting Rays last July and had a blast. At first I was alittle scared and kept jumping up when they would swim near my feet but then I got use to them and was actually holding one by the end of the time we were there. I would definetly recommend it to anyone. They are use to people and the water is not deep and it is alot of fun and something to remember

It wasn't quite so crowded when we were there two years ago; the ships weren't clumped together. We LOVED swimming with the rays! I had an underwater disposable camera and took pictures of the rays swimming under me - fantastic! We even got to hold one! It was the most exciting excursion we've ever been on.

We swam with the Stingrays, last October and it was fantastic!! We booked our tour on our own, through Captain Marvins and they took us to a sandbar away from the crowded tours booked through the cruise ships. We had a marvelous time and the sandbar we were on was for the 10 people that were on our boat, so we did not have to deal with crowds. I would book a tour through Captain Marvins in a heartbeat, no crowds and it also costs less than tours booked through the cruiseline. The staff aboard the boat are very professional, they even take a video tape of your snorkel/ swim, which can be purchased before you get back to Cayman. You can register online and if the cruise ship is unable to tender to Cayman due to bad weather or high seas, your credit card will not be charged. The websit addy is www.captainmarvins.com.

Have a wonderful time!

We experienced Sting Ray City a few years ago, and the others are all correct... it's a serious blast!! If you're trying to avoid the crowds another option is to take the very first excursion available. Ours happened to be the first boat out there. It was an amazing sight to see hundreds of sting rays swimming towards our boat from afar. They came quickly to meet the "chuck wagon", as they know the boats mean food! :) Definitely worth the experience with or without the crowd.
