Sugar free desserts on Carnival

We are planning a cruise in January with our semi-adult children. We are considering the Carnival Liberty. Our daughter is a diabetic and loved the sugar free desserts on RCL and Princess. Does anyone know about the quality and selection of these on Carnival? Also, the general quality of food (I've heard it is quite good)?

Hi,
I am also a diabetic and I know they have sugar free ice cream, some of the other cakes and pies I was not that impressed with. I only had to let our waiter know once and he monitored what food I received. Hope this helps.

Hi banker25

I am not diabetic, but have tried the sugar free desserts on Carnival ships. Figured I could pass the information on to family and friends that are diabetic. Everyone that I sail with pretty much agree. They are sugar free and pretty much everything else free as well. Not much taste.

But to be fair. We find most of the desserts don’t have the taste or flavor we are use too.

I am not diabetic either, but I have also experimented with some of the sugar free offerings in an attempt to reduce my overall caloric intake (ahem). I actually was quite impressed with those that I have tried. Gotta admit however, that I am not a big desert eater.

I didn't think what I had was bad! None of it was as good as homemade but as good as any other cruiseline fare and better than most. Viet

I am diabetic and have to say the desserts were great. I cannot have the regular desserts so have nothing to compare them to. But I did like all the selections especially the orange cream cake that tasted like a creamsicle. The chocolate cake was good also. Remember I can't have anything else so maybe just having anything makes me happy. lol
