Suggestion on a Travel Agency

I have been on 2 cruises and booked one through Expedia and the other directly with Carnival. I hear that a lot of people have a better chance of getting cheaper rates and upgrades by going through a travel agent. Any suggestions on a good reputable agency? I live here in Florida if it makes a difference...

There are several very good ones that have ads right here on this board. Check out some of their sites. You might be happy to see some of the prices they have.

I live here in Vero Beach, fl and i use a local travel agent here I would strongly recommend.
Travel Incorporated of Vero beach is the name. 772-562-7771. talk to june Leddy she will take good care of you. I am going on my 3rd cruise this year because she has found good rates for me. They might have a 800 number but you will have to call first and find out.tell her that lyle told you to call.

Cruise Value Center's website is the lowest I found HOWEVER.....I priced a cruise on it for January 2, 2004 for 3 nights for 3 of us and the rate was $709. I realized that the main location of Cruise Value Center was right in the next town to where I live in NJ. I decided that I wanted a more personal touch and called and the woman onthe phone quoted me about $50 more which she explained was because they do all the work and the personal touch. I was all for that and the extra $50. About 2 weeks after when I was ready to book I pulled up the website saw the same rate of $709. I went to the office and was ready to pay $759 which included that extra $50. When i walked in i told her what cruise i wanted she came back with a price of $854. I said HUH??????? It was $709 20 minutes ago on your website. She looked pretty dumbfounded. I think she was trying to BS me so I said yanno what keep your cruise It was worth the extra $50 for me but no the extra $150. I was so mad at cruise Value Center that i booked directly though Carnival for $750 which was LESS than what she quoted me by $100. So anyway this woman basically tried to rip me off. If I had not looked at the website right before I went in i would have fallen for it. I wonder how many other people she does this to. She wanted extra commission I guess.

Chipdetail,
Have yet to book but will be going on a 7 day [#41] and a 10 or more day [#42] that goes to Aruba [the wifes fave] and the Panama Canal [probably partial transit].
Working on getting some family members on their first cruise and haven't nailed them down on a firm date yet. They've got that no knowledge, "Anything but Carnival" thing going on so I'm a little pissed at them. But I love every line so its their money.they will be wasting along with mine

Don't settle for a single travel agent--no one agency always has the best prices, so you have to shop around.

http://www.cruisecompete.com is a good place to start, as you can get multiple quotes from agencies including Cruise Value Center, Cruise Quick, Best Price Cruises, etc.
