once again a question about getting alcholol on board.

we are going to be spending alot of money on liquor in the dinning room and on other drinks, but we want to drink bloody mary's out on our balcony and at the pool and save some money on this. we have the know-how of getting the vodka on ( thanks to the post here ), but how will be get the tomatoe looking pre-maid liquad mix on board. is there a certain ''alias'' container to put it in we can use or what??. or do you think we can leave it in the original container and they will let it go through? i know we will want to securly pack it in something that wont leak (plastic and zip-lock bag ) , but i think we should put in the checked luggage for the ship. is this right.

please help us get our drinks on board??.

Just bring it on. Nobody will car or say anything. I wouldn't even bother trying to hide it.

The mix is not prohibited. Many people drink it plain...you should have no problem with that. :)

Save yourself some lugging. Get a bottle of Dimitri's bloody mary seasoning,
order tomato juice from room service or scarf it off the buffet in the morning
use the Dimitri to season to taste, check out the bars on the ship, most lines
use Dimitri for their bloody marys. If you like it a little heavy on the celery flavor
you can thow in a bottle of celery seasoning as well.

Even though your problem is solved, I'd like to add that my sister doesn't drink any alcohol - but she loves the M&MT's Bloody Mary Mix. She keeps it in her refrig all the time. She also takes a couple of bottles on vacations with her. Never had a problem taking it in her carry-on for cruises. Any mixers (anything that doesn't contain alcohol) is fine to carry on in plain sight.

Don't waste your time, and avoid making a huge mess by trying to mix tomato juice with packets of seasoning, celery salt and lime. I assume that you will need a large pitcher and a stir spoon also. Some folks make things way to complicated.............

Just bring the premade mixers and keep chilled in your ice bin.
But do bring a couple of large cups, because any glasses on the ship will only be about 10 ounces.

Don't worry about trying to hide the booze in your room. The room stewards work on 100% tips and they don't care what you have, or what you do in there.

the liquad pre-made mixer was my original choice pick to bring. we can just pour in a little vodka and the bloody mary stuff, give it a stir and be on our way. we always take a unbreakable to-go cup with a lid with us so we dont have to refill them as often.

thanks for all the help guys.

antron,

Dimitri's is a liquid, the small bottle goes a long way. It is a simple process,
pour vodka over ice in GLASS, add tomato juice to fill glass, add Dimitri's
to taste, after a couple of glasses you will know about how much, stir, drink.

ok friends, here is a added question for my ''bloody mary fix''. where in california can you buy wine/beer and mixes easily. here in illinois we can pick up anything we want at our local drug stores, food chains and little gas stations. is this so in california. some place close to the cruise dock would be perfect. or is it a state where you can only buy alchohol at certain shops. any advice on this. thanks again

Corner drug store, Safeway, Raleys, bout same as what you have. If you are sailing out
of Long Beach (since you are on the Carnival forum) there is nothing real close, if you are
taking a cab from LAX to the port just tell the driver what you want to do and they will know
the best place to get off the freeway and get you to a store.

thanks bob

we will be sailing out of san diego and i am hoping there is something very close to the hotel we stay at the night before or someplace we can stop on the way to the ship. we will just take your advice and ask the cabbie to stop someplace along the way so we can load up.

Hokay......... just assumed LA, forgot they do have some sailings out of Sandy Eggo,
didn't even think about that.
And if you are staying over night there will be no problem at all unless you are staying
in the Shelter Island area. But if you are staying in the downtown area close to the pier
all you will need to do is find a major drug store, Longs, Walgreen's, or similar and you
are cooking. The airport is within rock throwing distance of downtown and the cruise
terminal but if you're taking a cab the driver should be able to point you in the direction
of the closest booze emporium no matter where you are staying.
