I just took my very first cruise...albeit to "Nowhere" but a cruise nonetheless. My spouse, who has never been on a cruise (the biggest ship being the New London/Orient Point Ferry) is concerned about becoming ill...he feels that, even with dramamine, he'll be OK if we do a sail and stop type of cruise. This will be his first.

I was thinking of a short 6 day or so cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale and into the Caribbean. I was looking at Carnival's 6 day cruises.

There are so many of you out there with alot of experience with these cruises...I would sincerely appreciate any trip suggestions you'd like to share with me.

Thanks a millions folks!

The Inside Passage in Alaska have very calm water. A round trip out of Seattle or Vancouver would mean you spend most of your time in the Inside Passage. Those cruises last one week.

You want to avoid sailing during the hieght of hurricane season. Most cruises sail on calm waters. some hit rather rough waters although the weather is fine.

If your husband does not get motion sickenss in vehicles or sick riding amusments rides he will be fine on a longer cruise.
I am sailing on the new Libert for 6 days in February- since we like the extra day to recoup. In the past we have done 7 days. 2 CTN.
