We are taking the 12 night Celebrity Summit from Venice to Barcelona and realize now we must book tours ahead of time since the local tours do not wait at the dock for customers (like in the Caribbean). If someone has already takent this cruise- we would appreciate any suggestions for good tour companies at these ports. Thank you._

We used Rome In Limo in both Rome and Naples. In Naples we had 5 people in the group and Carlo our driver did an great job. We visited Pompeii and Carlo arranged for a local guide for us so we avoided the lines and he did a great job of showing us Pompeii while avoiding the big ship tour groups. We then drove down the Amalfi Coast, stopping several times a scenic overlooks. Carlo would stop anytime we wanted. We stopped in Sorrento for some shopping and walking around and had a nice lunch at a seaside restaurant. We then went to Positano and walked around.

In Rome Jany was our driver and he was excellent. We hit all the highlight, plus a few stops that were out of the way. We had 7 people in a van, and were able to get much closer to the attractions than the big tour buses. At the Colosseum Jany got us tickets so we didn't have to wait in line, and we toured the inside. The ship's tours just had a photo stop of the outside. At the Vatican Jany had arranged a tour guide in advance, so when we got there she was already waiting at the head of the line and we zipped right in. She did an great job of showing us the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's. We stopped for lunch at a nice little restaurant next to Trevi Fountain.

In Florence we opted to use the ship's tour, and I'm sorry we didn't use Rome In Limo there too. The bus had to let everyone off quite a ways away from sites so there was a lot of walking to get to places. The guide had a transmitter and we had headphones, but if you got 30-40 feet away from her you lost the signal. We also lost a lot of time waiting for tardy people to return to the bus.
