Suites on the Miracle

We are planning a cruise on the Miracle for September and have a few questions about Carnival Suites and Spirit Class (Miracle) specifically.
We have sailed Carnival only once and that was a last minute "kicks & giggles" cruise. While we have had suites in the past with HAL and NCL never with Carnival.

1. Special Check-in/boarding & debarkation for Suites in New York?
1a. What about port visits?
2. Concierge service?
3. Are the category 11 suites in the aft any better than theCat.11/12 midship?
4. Any special perks.

Any respones will be greatly appreciated including comments about the ship, crew, etc. We sailed on the Legend which is also Spirit Class in 2004.

1. You will receive both special priority embarkation and debarkation in New York City. Just follow the appropriate signage to the VIP check-in area. From what I understand, this really does make a difference during peak times.

1a. As far as port of calls perks, for suites I do not know of anything special unless you are of platinum status which you are not since you only sailed Carnival once.

2. I have never heard of Carnival having concierge service on its ships, but then again I would also say that the suites are not nearly as big/nice as other cruise lines.

3. This one is personal preference, rooms tend to be bigger in the aft, with a nice large rap-around balcony. However if you are more prone to motion sickness, you may choose a standard suite in the center of the ship as you will feel the motion less in the center than in the aft.

4.Special features include a large vanity/dressing table, refrigerator and entertainment area, VCR, whirlpool bath and walk-in closet.

Miracle was a very nice ship, a little too overly decorated in my opinion, but it did just come out of dry dock and apparently as been renovated and some of the unnecessary decorations have been ripped out. In my opinion I enjoyed the Legend much more than Miracle due to the difference in entertainment staff onboard, but these things are all subjective and are likely to change in any given week. I feel that you can't go wrong with any cruise on a Spirit Class ship!

Have been on the Spirit and Legend in cat 12 cabins. the 12's are located mid ship. They have large balconies that could hold up to 8 adults with ease. The inside of the cabins offer a nice sitting area with a large couch and 2 arm chairs. TV and DVD/VCR in a cabinet between the balcony door and large picture window. You will find in the bathroom a two seater, one standard toilet and a bidet, along with a whirlpool / tub / shower combo, also a large counter with double sinks. You will have a nice dressing area with large makeup mirror and sink between the bathroom and living area. Lots and lots of closet and drawer space. Other than the larger cabin do not expect anything else extra, The suites are nice for spending a nice evening in on the balcony with no other's around. I hope this helps.

the cat 11 on the back of the ships are most sought after because of the size of their balconies. (do not book on deck 5-- these are not true suites)

these cat 112 feature seperate areas--sitting room is sepearte from the sleeping area.

priorty debarkation is for Platinum memebers only-- I did not know if suite guests get that perk also.

Priorty boarding is the only perk suite guests get. after boarding you are treated like all other guests. there is no concierge service on any carnival ship.
