What kind of dancing? If you're into ballroom, the Rendez-vous square on most Celebrity ships usually has a duo that plays ballroom type music - fox trots, rumbas, waltzes, swing, cha chas, etc. On quite a few ships, they even announced the type of music they were going to play and do take requests.

We just returned from Summit and were very disappointed. The majority just "shuffle" and not even anticlockwise round the floor. That meant that traditional ballroom dancing was impossible. Even trying to Walz was a no go. Sorry to bring bad news but, although the ship was superb, it was definitely below par in this area.

I always thought that the Celebrity Orchestra did a couple of xtra appearances around the ship for the "dancers" aboard ??

We have found that the rendez-vous either very early before 1st seating and late after late seating - while most of late seating goes to the show - is the best time to dance on an uncrowded floor. The worst time is between early and late seating as people stop on their way to or from dinner. Usually the last hour that the duo would play, there would only be a few couples out there - usually the true ballroom dancers..
