Just returned from the Med on the Millennium and booked June 24 on the Summit. Anyone going?

Thanks Steve; I am sorry I didn't respond to you sooner. Anyway, the information you provided is really very helpful. My wife and I are not doing the tour exactly as you and your family did, but we're anxiously looking for the Alaska experience. We're flying into Anchorage spending a night at the Marriott. While we're in Anchorage, we plan on taking one of the 3 hour airtours out towards Talkeetna and Denali. In the evening, we're off to the Alyeska Lodge for 2 nights and then down to Seward where we'll be staying at the Edgewater Hotel. Right now, we're trying to figure out what are the best tour options (on our own) at Alyeska and the Kenai Fjord area. Any suggestions?

Anyway, thanks again for your input and I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello :)

My husband and I will also be on the June 24, 2005 Summit Alaska cruise. This will be our first cruise with Celebrity, and are very excited!

My family and I (group of 6) are also on the 6/24/05 Summit sailing southbound in Alaska.
I hope our experience is as good as our cruise on the "Mercury" was in December. Really good service and good food. Sure seems like the "Summit" is filled up. I keep watching for any port side balcony rooms to open up and it doesn't seem to happen. Must be the most popular month to go.

Would love to hear more about the "Summit" ship from anyone!

51810ss,
Don't sweat too much over the starboard vs. port thing...
When we made our switch over to Sky Suites, the suites on the port side were all already booked...but we went ahead and took #6122 and #6124 anyway...

It really didn't make that much of a difference...
There are really only two "at sea" days...The first is when you cruise around in the inlet to Hubbard Glacier...It's a narrow inlet and there's stuff to see all the way around...and the captain does a coplete "360" right in front of the glacier--so both sides of the ship get a view...And what one side of the ship sees sailing in, the other sees sailing out...

A large part of the journey is through the waterways between islands in the panhandle region...there is stuff on both sides of the ship...

The second "at sea" day is the last one before you reach Vancouver...again, it is an "inland" waterway...there is lots of scenery on BOTH sides of the ship...

The views while in port vary depending on how and where the ship is docked...

Just enjoy...
