Summit Rock & Roll

I’ve noticed when checking in on the Summit bridge-cam, the horizon is very seldom horizontal. That would seem to indicate that the ship is rolling quite a bit, even though the seas look relatively calm. Is the Summit not a very stable ship, or is the bridge-cam view deceiving?

I checked the cam today and of course it's docked in LA. So all is smooth. I assume when you looked it was at sea coming from Hawai1.
I've never been o the Sumitt but I have come up the coast on the Infinity and it's a sister ship. Also three other ships. It does not matter how big the ship is if mother nature wants to rock and roll it does.

Some of the swells in the Pacific set the ships in motion and it was like riding a huge rocking horse.

The Summit is likley no worse or better than most of the ships today which are cruisers not built as "Ocean going" like the QM2.

The old Song of America (RCCl) was our first ship and it left from where the Infinity is parked. Now that ship was built for the Ocean and when going south from LA that year (actually we were at sea today) sitting infront of the pool and looking back at the stern the Horizon would come and go as it lifted and fell in the swells. A great ride. Very smooth. The Song was of course way smaller but a great ship for it's time.
