What line are you sailing on? Last February on the Carnival SPirit, hubby and I had reservations in the supper club -- the alternative dining place that is a notch higher than the dining room and costs 25 per person plus drinks plus tip. (WELL WORTH IT, TOO) Anyway, it was awesome. We were able to get an early reservation on the first of the 2 formal nights on the cruise. We had reservations at 6 PM and we were the only ones in the whole place! We had a cozy table for 2 on the starboard (right) side of the ship and we shared the  most amazing sunset -- the staff took several pictures of us with our camera with the sunset behind us. We were alone in the place until about 7 enjoying the food, the quiet and each other. It was SOOOO romantic. You might try to see if you can do this on your cruise. It might be the perfect setting to propose. Good luck! Your soon-to-be fiancee is one lucky gal! :)
