Sushi

So, we are going on our first cruise next month to the Caribbean. I noticed on Carnival's website that they have a complimentary sushi bar on all of their ships. How is the sushi? Can you eat as much as you want? Do they have a wide variety of sushi or is it pretty limited?

The Sushi is served approx. 5p.m. for a few hours. It is a tiny stand located near the Coffee Cafe.
Every evening they have a few specialties to try out. It is very good and freshly made in front of your eyes.
You must be able to order in Japanese.... just kidding. You can eat all you want but it will spoil your evening dinner so just have a few. You don't want to miss out on eating a nice dinner with lots of food to eat.

Just say in Japanese.... A-RI-GA-TO....ROLL THE LETTER "R" IF YOU CAN. It means thank you. Luci

Thanks! Glad to hear it is good :) I don't mind spoiling a good dinner, we really like sushi and usually make a dinner of it if we eat it. Yum!

My boss just returned from the Elation this past Monday. He said the sushi was very good, but that the line was long. Worth the wait, but it's a good idea to get there early. Also, there is a new Mongolian Stir Fry type food station. He said that too was very good. It wasn't as crowded as the sushi bar either.

The Sushi is usually served from 7 to 9 at the sushi bar. They also "offer" (for additional cost, surprise! surprise!) sake. If you don't want sake be sure to bring something to drink. Depending on the cruise it may not be every night. Check out the daily rag. It will have 4 varieties mostly of the rolled type. You can order as much as you like and can keep going back for more. The line is a crap shoot. Sometimes there is no one and other times you wait. My wife says that the sushi that I eat "pays" for the cruise.

So, we just got back on Saturday from our cruise, and to tell you the truth, we were NOT impressed with the sushi. There were only 2-3 rolls to choose from and it was not very fresh at all. We tried it twice and were not happy with it at all :( I was pretty bummed!
