Swine Flu caused RCL to change port of call

My wife and I are going on RCL "Liberty of the Seas", June 13th. The last port of call on our 7-day cruise was to be Cozumel, Mexico.
Yesterday we noted that RCL changed our port from Cozumel to CocoCay, Bahamas due to the Swine Flu in Mexico.
On the news they did report some 100 or so died from this in Mexico, but in a country of millions, that is very small amount and it is far from an epidemic outbreak.
(I suspect more have died in the "drug wars" that's been going on in Mexico in the past year or so)
Personally I wonder if RCL is being over cautious and is being influenced by the "World Health Organization" which is known to be over cautious??
Ironically I had mentioned to my wife a year ago that "someday I would like to visit the Bahamas". I just didn't think it be in 2009.
June is still far off, so is it possible that the cruise line would change the port back to Cozumel??=?

My wife and I were talking about this the other day. what would have happened on our honeymoon last year when we were going to Conzumel.

I believe they are being a little over cautious but not surprised by it all. A friend of ours honeymoon is being redone because they were going to Mexico. And while more people may have died because of the drug wars how many tourists have? It's probably more likely a tourist catches swine flu than killed bye some kind of drug war related problem. I do get your point though.

And honestly I think I'd rather go to the Bahamas over Cozumel. I'm not a fan of Cozumel really.

I don't believe what is going on here. First people are complaining that Royal Caribbean is still going to Mexico, then when Royal Caribbean announces it is not, another group of people start complaining, and those on the Mariner of the Sea are the most vocal about it. And just for the record, I am booked on the Mariner of the Seas and love the northern itinerary. Unfortunately, I may be on the first cruise going back to Mexico and thus will not get to experience the northern route.

There is no way Royal Caribbean is going to defy the WHO and the CDC and go to Mexico. One person gets sick and Royal Caribbean has a lawsuit that they cannot defend themselves against. Royal Caribbean has no choice but to avoid Mexico - NO CHOICE.

Personally I would love to go to Coco Cay. Unfortunately most of the cruises that go there are short cruises and I'm not flying to Florida for a short cruise.

I"ll take Coco-cay over Mexico anytime. One of the most delightful days spent on RCL ports.. Don't knock it till you try it.

Thank you all for the feedback on this topic.
Just wanted to clarify that though I was surprised at the port change, I am NOT complaining.
The only way I would complain is if our 7-day cruise was either cut short or cancelled...that would be the only time I would really be upset.
In the news, since my original post (and creation of this topic) the Swine flu seems to have gotten a lot worse.
The "WHO" has increased on their severity level from 3 to 5 (the second highest, with 6 being "Pandemic is underway").
With the worsening of the flu outbreak and spread to other countries, hopefully RCL won't cut short our cruise.
Bottom line: I've heard the Bahamas are nice and I'm looking forward to being in a country I never was in before. (tu)
If RCL cuts our cruise short by a day or two (or cancel altogether) because of the flu, THEN I would be upset.
