Switching dining plans before depart

The GF and I are on the Grand from Oct 12 - 19 - my very first cruise and her fifth (all previous ones were on Carnival). Due to uncertainty of our mutual timing for vacation, we reserved late - just a week or so ago. We have guaranteed FF cabin level but no specific cabin assigned yet. She requested Traditional Dining with late seating option and we are waitlisted on that. Neither of us wants early dining. If we get assigned to early seating is it possible to change to Personal Choice either prior to departure or as soon as we board the ship? Advice appreciated.

Generally if you don't get late traditional you won't be put in early - you'll be assigned personal choice. However, if you do somehow get early traditional, simply go to the maitre d' after you board and let them know you'll be in PC instead. No problem!

We were on the Star this Feb Mexican Riveria cruise. We were wait listed for early opposite of you folks, we did not want late (mostly because you don't eat your main course till 9--9:30 ish)
We waited in the 'change out' the line for the maitre d' , bout an hour , after boarding we got a perment seat, at 6:00pm, at the same table (all week) in the personal choice dining room. We never waited in line to sit in the personal choice dining room . Further, as the week went on, there were folks joining our table, that wanted traditonal dining . We'd just invite them to ask the maitre d' to join us!! to have a reserved place to sit.
Likely they will accomodate you folks at the late seating PC if you wish.
