We have never specified how large a table we would like, but one cruise on the Zenith found us being placed at a table for two.  We really enjoyed it - especially the more attentive service that came along with it   Seems very unpredictable as to how to get placed at the size table that you want, but I would think that requests would be accomodated if at all possible.
