Hi- Just back two days ago from the Carnival Legend which visited St Maarten.  Honey-don't you even worry 'bout taxis cause once you walk down the pier and through the visitors center, on the other side of the building there is 100's of taxis just waiting to wisk you away!  They even have signs posted for each beach where you are directed to stand like a bus stop kind of thing and they move you so fast it was about 5 minutes of a wait.  If there are only 2 of you they will charge you more money (like $18 a person one way) but we had a group of  8 and asked a couple next to us if they wanted to ride with us as we were only charged $5 per person.  As far as on the way back, we went to Orient beach which was beautiful by the way, and again there were all kinds of taxi drivers around just waiting for your business.  It was funny cause in Barbados, two taxi drivers actually fought over who was gonna get our business. They  were so persistent as to who was gonna win the price got down to $2 a person!  That's how they make their living and we are their paycheck.  Any other questions feel free!
