Not quite as much stuff for teens on the Dawn.  It's a somewhat more traditional cruise ship (by today's standards anyway).  Depends what your son likes to do. If he spent a lot of time in the arcade and enjoyed it, he may be disappointed because the dawn doesn't have one like that.  They've still got the sports stuff and pools, etc.; they're just not as extensive on the Dawn due to the smaller size.  It's a great ship though.
