Hi everyone,

I've been gone a while from these boards, but now I am back! Looks like we are going to sail on the Miracle in February 2008. Considering an Aft Cabin, never had one before. We've had balcony cabins the last 6 times we sailed and one Penthouse Suite on the Glory in 2004, we've never had an Extended Balcony cabin before and never an Aft one before.

I'd like to hear what some folks have to say about personal experiences with Aft Cabins.

Thanks!

I have sailed 7 out of 9 times on the aft. FOr me-- I want the most for my money and the aft balconies are sometimes bigger then the ones offered on the side.
Most aft only hold 2 people. If you have two people see if 7258 is available or8232- as these balconies are a LOT bigger then whats on the aft.

If not- an aft is the way to go-- its a further walk to the elevators/stairs but the halls are quiet as people dont go where they donthave to. The views are amazing. (I like my cabin also to be closer to the waters then higher up)

We've had an aft balcony twice and loved the views. The only down side for me is that you get hardly any breeze back there.

one year we went with Princess on a gl BB cat....they put us in C753 witch is all the way aft....since then it's the only place we'll stay when we go out.

the view is the best in my opinion.....alittle more secluded as there isn't much traffic back there....and really isn't a haul to the lifts to get around.

We chose an aft cabin on the Triumph and the Pride....a little more room on the balcony. We usually keep the door open at night....the wake sounds like a waterfall.......

we are going back out on the Triumph again this year but had to take a side aft cabin as we are taking our grandson out on his maiden voyage.

you shouldn't be disappointed with a cabin back there....

I only have experience with the extended balcony. After having had the pleasure of a cruise with an upgrade to an extended...I don't think I'd go back to a regular sized one. (Unless that's all they had)

Most people I've heard talk of aft cabins like it so much they get one every time.

We loved our aft cabin. I would consider one again on any of the Carnival ships. On the decks with angled railings the useable space on the extended balconies is a bit less. My partner (AGAYCRUISER) and I were on the Carnival Spirit (a sister ship to the Miracle on Dec. 1 2006 crusie. We were in aft cabin 8273. We had no noise from teh Lido deck right above us. We did have a bit of soot on occasion, but our cabin steward was always on top of it after the first morning at sea. See my partners review of the ship, and our cabin in the Carnival Spirit review, in the review section.

We love aft wraps, but our next choice is aft. AFTer that we'll take midship. We booked months and months in advance to get an aft wrap on the Triumph. We've booked over a yr. in advance to get an aft on the Liberty of the Seas that we're going to have to *sniff* have reassigned, because our son needs an accessible cabin more than we need an aft balcony.

I love the view as the ship turns away from a port and you head out to sea. I love how quiet and secluded and peaceful it seems. It's less crowded back there - fewer balconies. I like the view better. You get to see what's on both sides of the ship.
